
Master Hero Mode X ~ Ability is an select-able option for Master Hero Mode X on select maps in which both factions can level up and gain skills ultimately leading up to one massive fight.

Attack

Survivor
Unique to other variant, Ability starts both faction from the ground up, meaning Soldiers have no damage boost initially and mutants start at level 1 so they have lower HP and can't use their skills immediately. Similar to Mutation Knight Mode, players can gain point to level up by gameplay time, inflicting damage to mutants (soldiers) or infecting soldiers (mutants), and picking up Supply Boxes can also increase the level gauge. The HUD now shows damage indicator for every successful hit just like Zombie Mode, which means there are normal damage and critical damage.
Comparing to the original gameplay, Mutants and Heroes' health point and attack power has reduced by about 35% with some certain tweaks. This can be seen as Master Hero's Omni Slash skill, Sentry Gun from Mechanic Hero has been nerfed slightly or Evil Terminator's Fireball can be neutralized by Mechanic Hero's Arcane Grenade. Selected mutants at the beginning are more vulnerable since they are spawned at Level 1 instead of Level 2. The Evil Box now arrives at 2:30 like the Master Hero Mode X/ Random Buff, and the Hero Box still arrives at 2:00.
It should be noticed that soldiers will get stunned if got hit by mutant's melee attack, which can be a disadvantage to run or escape.
At the beginning of each round, players are forced to choose between Attack or Survivor upgrade paths, which dictates the buff pool they will receive (Red for Attack, Blue for Survivor). The level gauge and basic perks at each level are the same, but the random buff skills are the main difference, so players can choose based on their strategies.

Soldiers and Mutants will receive random buff at Level 3, 6 and 9 following the list below. Attack / Survivor buffs are colored Red / Blue, respectively. Players can inspect what buff others got by simply pointing at them or checking the in-game ranking chart.

Upgraded Heroes & Terminators[]
At Level 10, beside higher health point, Top Supreme Heroes and Terminators are able to use upgraded skill as below:
Trivia[]
- During the first release of this mode, Hero and Evil Supply Boxes will drop at 1:30, but this has been changed to 2:00. Mutants and Heroes' special skill are also changed to press F to activate instead of G, but this has been removed after later update.
- In the update of Dread Terminator, the Evil Box is now adjusted to arrive at 2: 30, and the Hero Box still arrives at 2: 00.
- Also, the Fusion skill when using the ability of Dread or Maiden 2.0 can boost mutants' movement speed even when crouching, and mutants can easily penetrate any defense points with narrow entrance which need to crouch to enter (such as the Throne Room in Void Island). This bug has been later addressed to balance the gameplay.
- Knight and Armored Terminator are the two Supreme characters that don't have upgraded skills after reaching Level 10, but instead their normal attack will be more powerful. This might be due to the fact they have already had more default skills than most Heroes and Terminators equipped.
- Another reason could be that the two were firstly introduced in Master Hero Mode X ~ Craft, so Tencent has no intention to add special skills for them when the Top Supreme Hero / Terminator attribute doesn't appear frequently in the said mode.
- After the update of Mutant Honor Season 3 in CF Vietnam, a serious glitch was introduced where players are unable to select any Supreme Heroes upon pressing E to transform at Level 9, and is forced to use Master Hero as a result. This glitch seems to occur when players count drop to 8 but players have yet to reach Level 9 - by pressing E, they can become Commando, but upon reaching Level 9, they'll automatically transform into Master Hero instead of being able to press E again to select their desired Supreme Hero. If players elect to not press E until they reach Level 9, they will be able to transform into Commando, but the Hero Select Menu will not pop up, and after a few seconds players will auto-transform into Master Hero instead. This glitch hasn't been fixed yet.
