Throwing Knife is a special throwing weapon, available only for VVIP characters (except Nymphs, Sicarios,Sisterhood and Black Mamba).

Overview[]

Throwing Knife is a small follow-up secondary weapon which allows players to throw it and carry more than two at the same times. The equipped VVIP characters have 7 of them on their arm, and it will be their default secondary weapon if they don't have any Pistol equipped. Otherwise, players can press 2 to toggle between their pistols and Throwing Knives.

Unlike the TAC-15, Throwing Knives are affected by gravity and players' movement, making aiming them extremely difficult. They are also quite weak, requiring 2 shot to the body or 1 shot to the head to kill armored opponent, so it's really not worth using in long run, thus only using it as back-up weapon.

Variants[]

Throwing Knife has many variants based on different characters:

  • Type-1: Available for The Fates and Subject Alpha. It features the Shadow Knives-like design and has the Special form exclusively to The Fates.
  • Type-2: Available exclusively for Switcher. It features the full metal dagger design, and in the Special form features red dagger design and players can throw 3 daggers per time.
  • Type-3: Available for Runaways, Ultimatum, Girl Crush, Heirs and Wild West. It features a brown switchblade with some carving on it.
  • Type-4: Available exclusively for Desperado. It features the Arkansas Knife-like design with 3 different colors, and the Special form can throw 5 daggers per time.

Trivia[]

  • Because Throwing Knives are considered secondary weapon, killing opponent with it will count as a Pistol kill rather than Melee kill.
    • For the same reason, mutants killed by Throwing Knives in HMX onwards will still respawn, as the game counts it as Pistol kill instead of Melee kill.
  • In Zombie Mode, Throwing Knives won't be replenished when using ammo station - once 7 are used, players will not get any more until they die and respawn. This happens even if players equip the Ammo Belt or active VVIP characters' Bless skill, which gains infinite ammo for all equipped weapons.
  • For some reasons, if player have their secondary pistol's burst-fire mode enabled, toggling between their pistols and Throwing Knives will result in the pistol's burst-fire mode disabled, thus it needed to be enabled again.
  • Despite the Special form of Type-1 blade used in Mutation Mode & variants have different design than the normal variant, it will still appear as normal Throwing Knives when thrown. This is because only the HUD model have been changed and the thrown model are shared between each variants.
  • Subject Alpha uses the normal variant of Type-1 Throwing Knives for all 3 character (BL, GR, Special), unlike The Fates which having a unique one for Special character.
  • In CF Vietnam, in normal modes, The Fates-Special, Switcher-Special and Subject Alpha-Special use the normal form of Throwing Knife for BL and GR instead of the unique one in Mutation and Zombie Mode.
  • In CF Vietnam, using Throwing Knife to hit opponents in their legs caused the whole room to be kicked back to lobby or xTrap error. It has been fixed later.
  • Strangely, Girl Crush also equips Type-1 blade on her arm and can be seen in both first and third person view; however, they are unusable and the Type-3 are used instead.
