CrossFire X was a first-person shooter game, developed by Smilegate and published Xbox Game Studios that released on Xbox One and Xbox Series X on the 10th of February 2022. CrossFire X was first announced in June 2019 in a Microsoft E3 briefing.
The game was the third installment in the Crossfire series. Remedy Entertainment worked on the game's two single-player campaigns, which are also available on Crossfire HD. However, on February 3, 2023, Smilegate announced that the game would shut down on May 18, 2023.
Summary
CrossFire X is an intense South Korean-made first-person shooter (FPS) experience where players are immersed in a sprawling global conflict between the world’s two most formidable private military factions: Global Risk employs veterans of powerful armed forces who use advanced technologies to fight for order and security; Black List employs hardened mercenaries trained in guerilla tactics who fight to destabilize oppressive regimes in the name of freedom. Choose your side and complete objective-based missions across a variety of classic and innovative modes featuring tightly crafted gameplay and cinematic visuals.
Overview
CrossFire X features two International Mercenary Forces, together in an epic global conflict. Players assume the role of either a Black List (terrorist) or Global Risk (anti-terrorist) mercenary, joining an online team that must work together to complete objective-based scenarios.
Powered by Unreal Engine 4, Crossfire X was developed by Smilegate Entertainment, based in Seoul, South Korea, and have development partners including Remedy Entertainment to deliver a platform of rich experiences for Xbox players including a single player campaign, battle royale and competitive multiplayer.
The single player campaign, which was developed by Remedy Entertainment, ran on a different game engine called "Northlight", while the multiplayer ran on Unreal Engine 4.
Gameplay
There were various game modes for players to choose from that each offer different experiences with specific rules and winning conditions. These includes returning classics such as Search & Destroy, fan favorites such as Spectre Mode and Nano Mode, but also some newcomers to the series such as Point Capture.

There were various mechanic differences compared to the original game.
