CrossFire Vietnam, officially titled as Đột Kích, is the Vietnamese localization of CrossFire for Vietnamese players. It was published in 2008 by VTC Games and used Vcoin as cash currency.

As of 1st July 2020, VTC Online is the current publisher of CrossFire Vietnam after service transition and used GoCoin as cash currency.

CF Vietnam is the fourth CF version to received the 64-bit support update, later becomes mandatory.

Available Features[]

CF Vietnam features the most up-to-date content, all available game modes, and most generic maps. These include Mileage Shop, Parasite Expansion, chat options, and weapon recommendations.

Exclusive Features[]

  • The default Knife has been replaced with a Wood Hammer (can still be obtained from Shovel-Born Beast's Lucky Draw perk).
  • White blood, lack of bloodstains and dead characters disappear instantly (except Mutation Mode (variants), Challenge Mode and Weapon Master TDM).
    • In recent patches, dead characters are no longer disappear. They can be seen in all mode, the reason is unknown.
  • Headshot icons changed from white/gold skull to red/gold apple-target. VVIP and custom headshot icons are untouched, however.
  • The knife kill sound has been muted on all characters, and knife kill icon changed from knife to star (after service transition).
  • There is a Time Limitation System that keeps track of players' playing time every day. Players can only earn full EXP/GP in the first 3 hours, then this number is cut in half in the next 2 hours. After five hours passed, players can no longer earn EXP/GP, even with mission rewards. To balance this, weapons will not receive damage once the 5 hours limit passed so players won't go on negative. This, however, players can bypass by equip VVIPs and/or Rings and still earn GP.
  • Special events that offer Black Market items, intended for low-end players who can't spend too much money but can farm playtime.
  • Special fast respawn items (4s, cash item and 7s, GP item) available in the Item Shop, as the default respawn time in CF Vietnam is locked at 10s.
  • Permanent weapons won from Black Market are both undroppable upon death and cannot be sold.
  • N-22 and Ngọc Trinh characters.
  • XM8-Dot Sight assault rifle and Đột Kích Grenade.
  • Banner from Festival map and Lucky/Coin grenades have Vietnamese character on it.
  • Mission Success and Mission Failed changed to Vietnamese (after service transition).
  • Special characters from specific modes that can be obtained through events like Nemesis, Commando, Fury Ghosts, Special variant of The Fates/Switcher/Subject Alpha, which can be used in any mode (except Battle Royale mode).
  • CF Vietnam is the only server where you can create anti-kick rooms (kicking operations are impossible in the game).
  • CF Vietnam is the first CF version to remove the weapon repair feature, this later quickly implemented in all CF servers in November 2019.

Capsule Shop[]

CF Vietnam has the largest Capsule comparing to all other CF versions with tons of Cash, Mini, and GP capsule released every month. Combo capsules become a regularity since mid-2015, and single-prized capsules are exclusively for GP one, as some Mini Capsules also features 2 best prizes.

After the service transition to VTC Online, GP capsules now features multiple best prizes as well. New capsules are still released each patch but most of them are only open for a limited time. The ability to buy 30/50 capsules at once (Cash capsules only) have been added for new capsules, saving lots of money for new players.

Webmall[]

Contents below belong to VTC Game.

The Webmall only sells Name Change item and EXP Plus, however, CF Vietnam also features a few additional webmalls where deleted items, capsules, weapons, and VVIP items can be bought at a discounted price.

Contents below belong to VTC Online.

Starting from 0:00 AM on 16th day of September 2020, the Webmall sell K/D ratio reset, 2 rename IGN items.

Trivia[]

  • CF Vietnam is officially titled Đột Kích by VTC, which is translated as "Sudden Attack". Funny enough, Sudden Attack was CF's rival early in 2008-2010 before it got shut down (published by VinaGame).
  • Since 2016, many Black Market items become giveaway prizes for various farming events (playtime, login day...), giving newcomers and low-income players a chance to get free items without having to spend too much. Additionally, lots of "Spend Cash, get permanent items" events are opened frequently to encourage players to rent stuff, renew items or spin junkie capsules, and at the end of the day walk away with a consolidation prize at their hand. This, however, had a negative impact on many veteran players, who think it is unfair that many rare weapons that they had spent a lot of cash for (ex: limited seasonal weapons, Ares/Ghetto weapons, Barrett M82A1 Red Dragon, etc.) are now nothing more than cheap prizes to bait new players into spending cash, effectively 'devaluing' those items. Many even go as far as making jokes about Black Market weapons being reduced to junks after so many giveaway events.
    • Also for a limited time, players are able to spend a significant amount of cash in exchange for ANY Black Market item of their choice - thus, rich players can try their luck in-game or buy VVIP items then select a prize that they've been dying for (those extremely-hard-to-win guns like Royal / Legend / Flying Dragons...) or simply to collect exclusive merchandises that are not available elsewhere (Such as NemesisCommando...). This event was later restricted to VIP players only in order to not devalue rare items too much.
    • After the service transition, the spend cash events have been heavily changed so that it's much harder to acquire to prizes, often only the last milestone will give players permanent prizes; for a fair trade-off, these prizes are often newly-released weapons/characters/items. The farming events are still on-going, but apart from usual BM weapons, it also features special capsules which are not available elsewhere and with various special prizes (including permanent BM weapons, characters and/or even VVIPs); some of these capsules may also have 100% guaranteed to win one of the best prizes.
  • While CrossFire is named Đột Kích in Vietnam, its mobile port retains the original name (added "Legends" in the back). The reason is CrossFire Legends is published by VNG instead of VTC Games, so they could not use the title Đột Kích which is trademarked to the PC version of CF by VTC Games.
    • Before CF Legends was released in Vietnam, there was a race between VNG and VTC Games, both competing to secure the right to release this game in VN. But eventually, Tencent's demand of $5 million upfront was too much for VTC Games to handle and VNG won the race. To mock its competitor, VNG promotes CF Legends as "The real CF", mocking at VTC Games' inferior products such as Phục Kích mobile or Xuất Kích.
  • After the transition to VTC Online, CF Vietnam has adapted CF West's glossary, such as Zombie Mode instead of AI Mode and Mutation Mode instead of Zombie Mode. However, legacy contents are not synced, leading to a funny consequence that there are two separate "Ranked Zombie Mode" (One is MM and one is ZM).
    • This has lead to a side effect of events content being translated from CF West's glossary, leading to confusion and misunderstanding, such as S&D being used instead of Bombing and S&D frequently being called "Team Deathmatch", etc.
    • Even weapon/character variants are also inconsistency named compared to original weapon/character's name (ex: M4A1-S Transformers but its newer variants are called M4A1-S Iron Beast; Sonoko but her newer character variants are named Switcher). These weapons/characters' names are not actually copied from CF West's, however.
    • On the same notes, many of VTC Online's promotion articles/materials are taken directly from this Wiki, but with very poor translation (As a result of Google Translate).

Special Events[]

All these events have been shut down or heavily changed after the service transition.

  • "Spend Cash And Get Permanent Weapon": Every 5 days or maybe a week, GMs will announce an event that gives players chances to get Black Market's weapons permanently. The only thing that players have to do is spending Cash in-game to obtain the weapon permanently. Later, there're more prizes for this event such as free capsule crates, free capsule tickets or free spin from web events. This event was later given only temporary weapons and items, only the highest (spend about 1000 Vcoins or more) will earn permanent (VVIP) weapons.
  • "Veterans Return": If players haven't play CF in 1 month, when they return and play CF in 10 or 15 days, they will get some permanent weapons. This event was later given only capsules and/or temporary weapons.
  • "Rookie Go To Combat": Players who create a new account and play CF in the first day, they will get a permanent weapon. If they keep playing for 20 days, they will get more than 4 permanent weapons.
  • "Spend Cash In Phuc Kich To Choose Permanent Weapons In CrossFire": When you spend about 228 Vcoin in the game Phuc Kich, you will have a chance to choose one of the permanent weapons in CrossFire (9A-91 UGS, COP 357 Fractal, Dual Karambit-Valentine, 687 EPD-Camo,...), characters (Sabel, FOX Undercover) or even VVIP weapons (AK47-Knife Transformers, Thompson Infernal Dragon, RPK Infernal Dragon, M4A1-S Predator, M4A1-S Transformers,...). If you spend more Vcoin (666, 1027 or 1527 Vcoin), you can even get more weapons and characters, including VVIP weapons (M4A1-S Born Beast, Field Shovel-Born Beast,...) & characters (The Fates-Special, Switcher-Special), which is cheaper than the original price.
  • "First Time Using Cash": At the first time you spend Vcoin in CF, you'll get a permanent GP weapon and if you spend more Vcoin, you will get a Black Market weapons or VVIP (maybe optional if given a list).
  • "Veterans Using Cash": For players who didn't spend Vcoin in-game for a month, if they spend an amount of Vcoin, they will get an available weapon permanently.
  • "Spend Cash And Choose Permanent Weapons": Previously available to the public, this event was later limited to VIP players, with a lowered price of 1000, 2000, and 3000 Vcoin specifically. The first 2 tiers allow you to choose a free permanent item (weapon or characters), the last tier unlocks VIP and rare items into the list. A lesser-quality event has been released once for the public with a shortened list of permanent items to choose from.
  • "Attend and Choose Your Permanent Weapon": Every player who gets at least 1 EXP and play enough for a certain number of days, GMs will give a player a list of random permanent weapons and choose whatever weapon he/she wants from the list (the account must have at least 1 Vcoin to see the list and choose from the Webmall).
  • "Attend and Receive Prizes": Every player who gets a certain amount of EXPs and/or play for an amount of hours or for a certain number of days (usually the last milestone), sometimes also required to play certain modes (such as S&D) will get various prizes for various milestones such as temporary (VVIP) weapons, characters, weapons' dolls, killmarks and/or special capsules (sometimes with 100% guaranteed winning rate), while the last milestone will be a permanent weapon or items such as dolls that were announced on the official website and fanpage.
  • "Winning Prizes To Get Permanent Weapon": A special capsule will be released during this event, which the player is required to win some of its prizes to receive permanent weapons/characters depends on the prizes that the player won. The special capsule is only released for limited time and mostly features temporary weapons/dolls.
  • "Character Upgrade": Before the update of any renewal character, players who already own original version of that character and spend about 50 GoCoin or more during the event will receive the renewal variant after the next maintenance update.

Service transition[]

As of May 31st, 2020, VTC Games officially announced that they would stop publishing CrossFire, confirming the rumor that's been passing around two months before. Following this, VTC Online announced that they would took over publishing CrossFire in Vietnam, and players would have the option to transfer their VTC Games account over in order to retain their character and inventory. CrossFire was officially shut down on July 1st, and one day later VTC Online opened the Character Transfer portal on CF's homepage. The game has been re-opened on July 5th and immediately applied the Lunar New Year patch that was suspended way back in January.

CF Vietnam now uses GoCoin as the premium currency, however all exclusive VTC Games-branded weapons are kept intact. The VIP System has been discarded, although old accounts that qualified for VIP system still gets to keep all of the benefits, such as red IGN / chat text, exclusive namecard / spray, no penalty on deserting a match and +1 magazine for all weapons. VIP System was eventually re-opened in July 2022, allowing new players to gain VIP status based on the amount of GoCoin they've spent since 2020.
