Butterfly Knife-Luminous Edge is a VVIP melee variant of the Butterfly Knife featured in CrossFire.

Overview[]

Butterfly Knife-Luminous Edge is a VVIP melee weapon that focuses on its appearance. The blade features a crimson-colored light effect, giving it a visually striking and aggressive look.

Unlike the original Butterfly Knife, the Luminous Edge has the ability for continuous attacks by click-holding, allowing it to be deceptive in battles against others, similar to the Raging Bull-Gun Knife.

Additionally, it can be thrown in Mutation Modes. During the throwing phase, which lasts approximately three seconds, players can experience a remarkable acceleration that can be described as insane.

Trivia[]

  • This weapon was first updated in the April 2023 patch of CF China, but during the testing, it had slow attack animations and lower damage, which made it seem insufficient as a VVIP weapon. Therefore, it was delayed release to readjust. Later, its attack speed and damage were increased, and a new displaying animation was added to ensure its performance met the expectations of a VVIP weapon.
  • Despite the fact that this weapon attacks faster than its stock variant, it actually takes longer to execute another attack due to all the fancy twirl and twist at the end of the animation. This, ironically, makes Butterfly Knife-Luminous Edge slightly inferior against the stock variant and requires much more precise timing during each attack, otherwise players could be left vulnerable if they miss or fail to deliver a critical hit and requires a follow-up attack.
